Yoga's sister science, Ayurveda, teaches of using foods and herbs as medicine to balance different body types and seasons, but yoga asana too can be approached as a way to retain inner harmony instead of adding to depletion and stress.
This training explores Ayurveda’s Dosha Theory as it pertains to seasons and body types, and is based on the foundational concept of "vishesha" or balancing with opposites, to approach your class sequencing according to weather, season, world events and modern lifestyle. Learn how to tailor your sequencing to tame the high winds of anxiety, ignite the heaviness of a static lifestyle and cool the heat of stress and cultivate sustainability in your teaching and practice. At the root of this Yoga & Ayurveda training is the understanding that not all yoga practices are created equally, and different bodies, minds and seasons require distinct yoga practices to establish and sustain balance.

This knowledge takes your sequencing to all-new levels of sensitivity and provides your students with a resource whose power is recognizable in their day-to-day lives.

Julia Clarke, E-RYT 500 and M.S. Maharishi Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine is the co-founder of Mountain Soul Yoga in Edwards, CO and has been teaching yoga in the Vail Valley since 2009.
